A person held at the Northwest Correctional Complex, a Tennessee state prison in Lake County, died in May 2026. One report gives the date of death as May 20 and another as May 21. A Lake County grand jury indicted a case of second-degree murder in connection with the death and described it as a homicide. The indictments were announced in July 2026 by Action News 5 and WVLT.
