Sherri D. Cook
Sherri D. Cook, 43, of Whitesburg, Kentucky, died on May 20, 2022, while held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Duffield. Jail staff had her strapped into a safety chair that day, and she was later taken to a hospital in Wise County, where she was pronounced dead. The Virginia State Police said their investigation is ongoing and that no cause or manner of death has been determined.
