Shane Kendall
Shane Kendall was an autistic young man who loved music and dancing, according to his parents, and had received therapy since he was a toddler. He died at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, where he was held, on February 1, 2021. Jail officers reported finding him unresponsive in his cell, and staff said he had a ligature around his neck. His family's wrongful death lawsuit says jail medical providers employed by NaphCare failed to give lifesaving care and neglected his needs, and that the sheriff and jail staff carried out negligent revival efforts after an alleged suicide attempt. NaphCare denies wrongdoing and has asked that the case be dismissed.
