Robert Fisher
Robert Fisher, 34, died on October 22, 2024, at Elmira Correctional Facility in Chemung County, New York, while held in the custody of the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. According to a heavily redacted incident report obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, a correction officer found him unresponsive on his bed at 1:27 a.m., and EMS care began at 1:52 a.m. before he was pronounced dead. The report lists the cause of death as unknown, and the county health department declined to release the autopsy report.
