Lawrence Brown
Lawrence Brown, 34, died on April 10, 2026, at Riverview Correctional Facility in Ogdensburg, New York, where he was held in the custody of the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. State police said he was in a fight with another person held at the facility, that he was punched, fell and struck his head on an object, and that he was taken to hospitals and placed on a ventilator for a significant brain bleed before he died. The state Attorney General's Office of Special Investigation, which reviews deaths in which an officer may have played a part, lists the death as an assault by another person held at the facility. The corrections department posted notice of the death under Correction Law 624.
