Kevin Brown
Kevin Brown, 47, died in 2014 while held at the Nassau County jail on Long Island, New York. A Commission of Correction report attributed his death to heart failure, found that it could have been prevented with proper medical care and supervision, and criticized jail officials and the private health care contractor Armor Correctional Health Services. His family has filed a $20 million federal wrongful death lawsuit against the county, the jail and the medical provider. Armor says a court would find that Brown received proper care.
