Hugo Boror Urla

Hugo Roberto Boror-Urla, 39, died on May 22, 2024, while held in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody. ICE lists his death in its detainee death reporting, which places him at the Calhoun County Correctional Center in Battle Creek, Michigan. A Latin Times report published June 1, 2024, said he was a Guatemalan national who had been held in ICE detention in Michigan for about a month and died at a hospital in the state. ICE has not, in the sources, stated a cause of death, and the account of his care in the hospital comes from no source here.
