Antwan Brown
Antwan Brown, 26, of Long Beach, died on January 7, 2012, while held in a cell at the Nassau County jail that he shared with another man. Nassau County prosecutors said he died of asphyxiation during a fight in the cell. Correction officers heard the struggle and used mace through the cell door to stop it, but could not save him. A jury later convicted the other man of first-degree manslaughter, rejecting the defense's argument that he acted in self-defense.
