Alonje Walton
Alonje Walton, 37, died on December 14, 2009, at Pinckneyville Correctional Center in Pinckneyville, Illinois, where he was in custody. According to the Illinois Department of Corrections, a hostage situation inside the prison began in the morning and lasted more than seven and a half hours. The department said Walton was shot and was pronounced dead that evening. A female employee involved in the standoff was rescued and taken to a hospital for evaluation.
