Zane William Carpenter
Zane William Carpenter, 78, of Prineville, died on October 29, 2026, in the infirmary of Snake River Correctional Institution in Ontario, Oregon, where he was receiving hospice care. He was held at the prison as a sentenced prisoner. The Oregon Department of Corrections said the Oregon State Police had been notified and that the State Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, as with all deaths in custody. No cause or manner of death has been established.
