Zachary Goldson
Zachary Goldson, 24, died in October 2013 in his cell at the Brown County jail in Ohio. Deputies found him hanging from a bed sheet, and the deputies' attorney and the Montgomery County coroner who performed the autopsy described the death as a suicide. A former Brown County coroner ruled it a homicide and accused the deputies of staging a suicide, while a grand jury, Ohio state investigators and the Montgomery County coroner found no criminal wrongdoing or did not agree it was a homicide. His sister is suing the two deputies who were alone with him, and a federal jury trial set for June 2021 was to decide how he died and whether excessive force was used.
