Woods
Woods, a 39-year-old Black farm hand, was held in a Florida jail, and his father had asked that he be kept there for his safety. The Atlanta Daily World reported on October 30, 1956, that an unidentified mob had taken him from the jail and that there was concern he had been lynched. Searches near Wildwood had turned up no leads as of that report.
