Winner

Winner was held in the jail at Lexington, Missouri. According to a Richmond, Mo., dispatch reprinted in The Red Cloud Chief on December 3, 1897, a mob took him from the jail and lynched him. The same dispatch says another man was lynched with him. Winner was one of two men taken from the jail and killed by the mob.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. The Richmond, Mo. dispatch reprinted in The Red Cloud Chief reports that Winner was taken from the Lexington jail and lynched.
