Willie Steele
Willie Steele, 49, of Gary, Indiana, died at Indiana State Prison in Michigan City on July 26, 2017, from a stab wound. A 2017 local radio report said staff found Steele injured inside the prison and that Steele was pronounced dead at a hospital. Records cited by the South Bend Tribune list the death as a homicide, and the Tribune reported that another man held at the prison was later charged in connection with it. Investigators said an autopsy was planned.
