Willie Brunner
Willie Brunner, 62, was held at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola, where he was found on the floor of his cell in March 2017. He died on April 23, 2017. West Feliciana Parish District Attorney Sam D'Aquilla described the death as a homicide from an alleged beating, and a cellmate has been rebooked on a second-degree murder charge in connection with it. D'Aquilla said assaults at the facility have been a fairly regular occurrence recently.
Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. District Attorney Sam D'Aquilla says Brunner's cellmate beat him, and the cellmate told officers he started the beating.
