Executed
William Moore
William Moore was one of six men hanged together at Fort Smith, Arkansas, in 1887, an execution carried out under the federal court there. The executioner, George Maledon, later recalled that Moore faced a large crowd when asked for final words and told them there were worse men than he standing there. A Fort Worth Daily Gazette account from September 1887 gave a similar recollection from the hangman, attributed to him rather than confirmed independently.
Cause of death, as reported: Executed by the state
Reported by: George Maledon, executioner.
