Executed
William Coy
William Coy received a farewell visit from his sister and ate a hearty breakfast on the morning of his execution. He told those present that he was reconciled to God and would die in the hope of immortality. He was hanged in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on March 3, 1893, after a restless night and visits from clergy. The Weekly Union reported the cause of death as hanging, with his neck broken.
