William Cleveland, 32, died on November 9, 2020. A news report said he died by suicide while held at the Mitchell County Detention Center in Mitchell County, Texas. A later Texas Office of the Attorney General custodial death report, published March 26, 2021, lists his death at the Wallace Unit, a Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison in the same county, and gives no cause of death. The two sources disagree about which facility held him, and that discrepancy remains unresolved.
