Will Sharp
Will Sharp was taken from sheriff's officers by a mob near Tiptonville, Tennessee, on September 13, 1910, and hanged from a tree. One report says the mob numbered about 500 people, another about 200 white men. The officers had hidden him and another Black man in Reelfoot bottoms to keep them from the crowd, but that plan failed and the mob found them.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A mob took Will Sharp from sheriff's officers and hanged him near Tiptonville, Tennessee, in September 1910.
