Will Brown
Will Brown was a Black man held in the jail in Dyersburg, Tennessee, in October 1902. A mob took him from the jail at night and hanged him from a telephone pole. According to one account, the court had urged the crowd to let the law take its course before the mob acted. Several local men were later indicted as participants, and their trial was under way in February 1903.
