Will Bell
Will Bell, a 29-year-old Black man, was shot to death in the early hours of January 29, 1922, near Pontotoc, Mississippi, according to an Associated Press report. Officers were taking him by train toward Jackson for safekeeping when a group of unidentified men stopped them near town and took him from their custody.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. An Associated Press report says a group of unidentified men intercepted the officers taking him by train toward Jackson and shot him to death near Pontotoc.
