Whitney Renee Brooks
Whitney Renee Brooks, 34, was held at the Cleveland County jail in North Carolina for about two weeks. According to a medical examiner's report, she reported body aches, vomiting, chest pain and shortness of breath while in the jail. Deputies took her to a hospital, where she had been released from custody, and she died there a day after being admitted, of sepsis and heart disease. She said she was homeless when she was booked.
