Welker

Welker, a man, was taken from a jail in Nashville, Tennessee, by a mob and hung, according to a Nashville despatch printed in The Daily Phoenix in March 1868. The despatch does not say who held him at the jail or whether officers resisted the mob, gave up the keys, or handed him over. The date of the killing is not given in the account.
