Wanda Kendrick
Wanda Kendrick, whom her roommate describes as a very kind soul who was always there for him and who liked to be in style, collapsed in her cell at the Johnson County Jail in early March 2018. She was taken to a hospital and died about four and a half hours later. The coroner's autopsy lists enlargement of the heart as the cause of death, with complications of an earlier gastric bypass surgery as a probable contributing condition. Her roommate says she never received her prescription medications during the eight days she was held at the jail, a claim the jail and its health contractor have not addressed in detail. Her son and roommate are not satisfied with the answers so far and are considering legal action.
