Walters
Walters, a man, was held in the Basin jail in Basin, Wyoming, in July 1903. According to a special dispatch to The San Francisco Call, about thirty masked men broke into the jail on Sunday, battered down the cell doors and shot him as he lay on his cot. The dispatch says the sheriff had moved him to the jail before the mob arrived, and that the entry followed a shooting at the jail in which a deputy was killed. Other papers reported the attack on the jail in brief items.
