Walter Stokes
Walter Stokes Jr., 77, died on January 7, 2025, while held at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna, Delaware. According to the First State Update, he reported shortness of breath in his cell and was taken to the prison infirmary, where he became unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at 7:37 a.m. The Delaware Department of Correction announced the death in a news release and said his body was sent to the Division of Forensic Science, where the cause of death is pending.
