Walter Ellis
Walter Ellis, 53, died on December 1, 2013, at a hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he had been taken from the state prison there. He was held under an interstate agreement with Wisconsin and had been hospitalized since late November with an advanced illness that officials did not name. The South Dakota Department of Corrections said he appeared to have died of natural causes. The state Division of Criminal Investigation looked into the death and planned an autopsy.
