Waldron

Waldron, a young man, was in the custody of the sheriff of Spalding County at Sunnyside, Georgia, in August 1880. According to the Wheeling Register, a posse overpowered the sheriff, took Waldron from him, and killed him by cutting off his head. The Mower County Transcript reported the same taking and killing, saying the sheriff was overpowered. The sheriff is described only as overpowered; the sources do not say whether he resisted, gave up the keys or handed Waldron over.
