Vincent Garcia
Vincent Garcia, 40, died on January 30, 2022, while held at the Bexar County Jail in San Antonio, Texas. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said he told a unit officer he felt uncomfortable in his housing unit, and that two other people held there got through their cell doors and attacked him around 7:00 a.m. The Sheriff's Office said a unit officer opened a door so he could get away and then closed it to stop the attack, and he was pronounced dead at the jail's medical section about 7:07 a.m. The sheriff said the locks on the cell doors should not have been defeated, and the Texas Rangers and jail internal units are investigating how the attack happened.
