Died in jail or a lockup
Victor Zilinek
Victor Zelinek, 40, died on July 13, 2022, while held at the Allegheny County Jail in Pennsylvania. TribLIVE reported that he was found unresponsive in his cell and pronounced dead shortly after, and the Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified him. No cause or manner of death has been released, and county police are investigating while the jail said an internal review will follow. Councilwoman Bethany Hallam, a member of the jail oversight board, publicly demanded answers and said the board lacks access it should have. TribLIVE noted that his death was the fourth involving a person held at the jail that year.
