Vicki Holifield
Vicki Holifield died on June 16, 2024, after a fentanyl overdose while held at the Tipton County Correctional facility in Tennessee. Sheriff Shannon Beasley and county investigators said the drug had been smuggled into the jail and used by her and other people held there. Staff gave her Narcan and CPR on the morning of June 15 before she was taken to a hospital, where she died the next day. The sheriff's office's account of how the drug got inside has not been independently verified.
