Vernon Earl Sparkman
Vernon Earl Sparkman, 54, of Lufkin, Texas, was held at the Angelina County Jail in January 2016. On January 22 he told jail medical staff he was feeling worse, and he was taken to CHI Memorial St. Luke's Hospital in Lufkin. The sheriff's office released him to his family that Saturday, and he died at the Lufkin hospital early on Monday, January 25. An autopsy has been ordered, and the sheriff's office is investigating the official cause of death.
