Valerie A. Cuccia, 46, of Madison, died on August 26, 2024, while held at the Dane County Jail. According to the sheriff's office, she was found unresponsive in a housing unit of the Public Safety Building portion of the jail. The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office has not released a cause or manner of death, and additional testing is underway. The Dane County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death.
