A man in the custody of the Connecticut Department of Correction died on April 27, 2020, after an illness, according to the department. The department said he first showed COVID-19 symptoms on April 6, was taken to UConn Health Center for intensive treatment on April 8, and tested positive on April 9. Officials said he had preexisting medical conditions.
