A 43-year-old woman was found unresponsive in her cell at the Sequoyah County Jail in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, on September 12, 2025. The Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office said there were no visible signs of injury or trauma. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating, and her body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
