A 53-year-old man was held alone in a cell at the Rock County Jail in Janesville, Wisconsin, where the Rock County Sheriff's Office said he was found hanged on April 18, 2023. Paramedics restored a pulse and took him to a hospital, where he died on April 23. The sheriff's office described the death as a suicide. Authorities had not released his name, and an autopsy was to be performed in Madison.
