A man died on September 2, 2023, in Faribault, Minnesota, after a late-night traffic stop and low-speed pursuit that the Faribault Police Department said ended with a PIT maneuver. Police said he lost consciousness in a squad car while being taken toward the Rice County jail, and that he did not survive hospital treatment. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating, and the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death.
