A 26-year-old man was held at the Department of Corrections facility in Mangilao, Guam, when he became ill and asked an officer for help, according to KUAM's reporting. An officer requested a medic from the Guam Fire Department, and he was taken to the naval hospital, where he was pronounced dead on May 17, 2024. DOC Director Fred Bordallo has spoken about the death, and the Guam Police Department and DOC internal affairs are investigating it. The manner of death is listed as pending.
