On September 29, 1893, five people were hanged in public at Mount Vernon, Montgomery County, Georgia, in executions carried out under sentence of law. The Buffalo Bulletin reported the hangings in its October 5, 1893 edition. The five people are identified in the account only by their number and the manner of their deaths.
