The man was held in a New Orleans jail with his brothers when a mob broke in and took him from it. A September 1893 newspaper account says the mob hanged him and then returned to the jail for his youngest brother, whom they also hanged. The account gives no name or age for him.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A newspaper account says a mob took him from the New Orleans jail and hanged him.
