In June 1905, a man held at a jail in Georgia was taken from the jail by a mob and shot, according to a report in the Salt Lake Herald published June 30, 1905. The report says he was one of seven men killed after being taken from the jail in this way. The jail and the sheriff's office were the agency that held him, and the mob took him from their custody.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. The Salt Lake Herald reports that a mob shot him after taking him from the jail.
