Detention officers at the Anderson County Detention Center found the person with a self-inflicted wound around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025, and they were pronounced dead. The Anderson County Coroner said the cause of death was bleeding to death from an exsanguinating hemorrhage and ruled the manner a suicide. The coroner and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) are still investigating the death.
