A man held in an Arkansas jail was taken from it by a mob and hanged from a tree, according to a short item in The Lambertville Record published May 25, 1887. The item does not give his name, the place of the hanging, or the date it happened. He is identified only as a man who was held at that jail when the mob came for him.
