A girl held by officers in Barlow County, Georgia, was taken from them by a mob on October 31, 1890, and carried into the countryside. Her father later found her body near the house, on a road where there were pools of blood and signs of a struggle. The Desmet Leader reported that her throat had been cut. The paper also expected that another person taken from the officers would be found hanging from a tree, but that was not confirmed.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. The 1890 newspaper account says a mob took her from the officers holding her and that her throat was cut.
