No name is given for the man who died. He had been taken into custody by officers about twenty miles from Corder, Missouri, and in September 1891 a mob took him from the officers and lynched him. He was in the custody of the officers when the mob seized him.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. The Sully County Watchman, reprinting a news item, says a mob took him from the officers and lynched him.
