A man was held in a jail near Hazlehurst, Georgia. According to a short dispatch from Waycross printed in the Union County Courier in May 1893, a mob took him from the jail and hanged him. His death is recorded as a killing carried out by that mob while he was in the jail's custody.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A Waycross dispatch printed in the Courier says a mob took the man from the jail and hanged him.
