The Griggs Courier reports that a mob took one of four Black men held in Polk County, Florida, from the sheriff and lynched him. The Hope Pioneer, published the same day, reports that three Black people were taken from the sheriff and lynched. Neither account gives a name, age, or date of death for the person killed.
