In September 1885, a Las Vegas Daily Gazette dispatch from Lewiston, Idaho, reported that a Chinese man was one of five Chinese men taken from a jail by masked citizens and hanged from trees. No name is given for him. The masked group was said to be armed with repeating rifles, and the men's houses were burned. The dispatch linked the men to the killing of Daniel Frazer at Pierce City.
