A Black man held by law officers was taken from them by a mob and hanged, according to a dispatch datelined Shreveport, Louisiana, and published August 30, 1922. The dispatch dates his death to August 29, 1922, and says his body was found hanging from a tree about twelve miles away. The mob's seizure of him from the officers is the only account of how he came to die that the dispatch gives.
