This Black person was held in the Salisbury jail when a mob broke in on the night of Sunday, August 5, 1906. The mob took them from custody and killed them. The Canton Weekly Register reported that three people were taken from the jail that night and killed. Militia called out to defend the jail shot one member of the mob.
